Psychology of Submissives
with Sea

This class combines the following classes by Sea: (1) Component's of a Submissive's Psychology and (2) Psychology of Service Submissives

Are you a dominant who would like to understand the psychology of submissives and what can help your relationship last? Are you a dominant who is uncomfortable to receive service, or cannot fathom why someone would want to clean your house? Are you a submissive who would like to understand why you have conflicting drives, and how to deal with internal conflicts? Are you a service submissive who has felt unfulfilled and had difficulty conveying what is important to you towards service and D/s relationships in general?

First we clarify terminology--what we mean by a submissive and related terms. We discuss submission with respect to a personality trait, a sexuality-based role preference, and social status.

Next we discuss a general model for a submissive's psychology. The model discusses different components that collectively influence the needs, wants, and behaviors of submissives, and how unmet needs affect this influence. We then discuss practical applications of this model: its impact on relationship compatibility and longevity and its application to various scenarios.

Then we will interactively discuss the challenges faced by dominants and submissives with respect to service. We will then discuss archetypes of service submissives, how to identify these archetypes, and why each archetype likes to provide service. We will then talk about how identifying these archetypes helps determine compatibility, and to understand what can enhance or deflate motivation to serve for the different archetypes.

Helpful to:

* Dominants who wish to better understand submissives, make their relationships more resilient, and better understand basis for compatibility.
* Dominants who wish to understand service submissives and what motivates them.
* Submissives who wish to better understand self, learn how to process feelings, learn how to communicate what is important in a relationship, and understand what would be important to a compatible dominant.

* Service submissives who wish to better understand what motivates them to serve, and learn how to communicate needs to a dominant about what makes service fulfilling.

Bio

Sea, also known as undergroundsea, has been a BDSM gypsy of sorts for almost 13 years and attends social and educational events across BDSM, leather, and fetish communities in multiple cities. He is proud to call home Austin, a city where a homeless crossdresser is a local celebrity who ran for mayor, a local band bases all its songs around the lead singer’s fetish for feet, and adults gather each year to celebrate the birthday of Eeyore—yes, Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh!

Sea has done his share to help, as they like to say there, keep Austin weird. His contributions to the Austin scene include hosting and promoting a fetish night for three years, during which time he wrote and directed, performed in, and arranged music for multiple fetish shows. BDSM influences his artistic expression, which has occurred in the form of fetish photography, DJing music for scene events, dance, and writings. He has also done stand-up comedy at multiple BDSM events.

Sea regularly presents at BDSM events across the country with a focus on communication and psychology, especially the psychology of submissives. He was recently invited to join the Advisory Board for DomCon Los Angeles and DomCon Atlanta. His current projects include speaking at college human sexuality class, visiting vanilla forums and taking a tactful stand for BDSM as needed, and providing information to those seeking out BDSM or ambivalent about their interest. His past contributions include chairing the Austin chapter of The Next Generation BDSM group for four years.

He comes to the East Coast to present at TES Fest, an annual convention hosted by the first BDSM group to form in the U.S. After TES Fest, he will deliver a series of seminars across Washington D.C., Philadephila, and New York City.
